Navigation Marks:

A new buoy (Juicy) has been put at the mouth of the river marking the entrance at low water. This is a red and white clear water buoy with a white flashing light.
Buoys 2 through 14 are red cans. Numbers 2 and 4 (Dog Leg) have red flashing lights.
Buoys 13 and 15 are green cones. Number 11 is the original spherical buoy but is due to be replaced with a cone.
Moorings start at X.

The existing perches no longer provide good navigation guidance and  were to be removed but this has not been done..

Some pictures and video have been taken showing the river at low tide:

Speed Boats and Personal Water Craft.

Any one launching either at Knightstone or Uphill Boat Services will be subject to the terms of a permit. All permitted craft will carry identification and can be reported to NSC on 01934 622669 if there is a problem. This is the number to use if there are any urgent public safety issues (quad bikes, boy racers etc.). There will be more information available on http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/
Here are details of the scheme:

The Knightstone launching permit will be available from Weston Tourist Information Centre (TIC)
Please note all users of the Slipway to have an official permit in order to access the facility. You will be denied access if you do not have the correct permit.
Please take a copy of your insurance to the TIC and if possible a passport sized clear photo of yourself and any named drivers on your insurance (the team have a digi camera but each named driver must be present)
You will also need to know your datatag, name or other distinguishing mark of your vessel (if you do not have an ID you will be given sticker)
If your insurance names you and 'any permitted driver' you can purchase a single user permit and take responsibility for any other driver in charge of your vessel
