Wanting a somewhat more reliable web presence - with the original free-online site tied to an old dial-up account - and the free-be Portland site proving very unreliable, we thought it better to actually pay for some server space.

We then found that wbyc.co.uk was available as a Domain name - so for a few quid a year its ours now for good - so no more changes. The old site now has a re-direct on the homepage, as does the Portland address. The files will be deleted soon from portland - but there will be a re-direct on it.

Its given us a great deal more storage space - and interactive options, such as a forum page - where anyone can place comments, messages online - or guestbook.

Recent Stuff

The new 2008 handbook is now online | here | - the 2007 is still online for reference.

The for sale page does not seem to get any response - Maybe it would be worth trying the forum out, as a trial.

We now have a section for up to date race results - on a monthly basis | here |

I've added a PDA index page - if you have a 3G phone. The Index page links are 'image links' so do not read out properly on a phone screen. The link is at the head of the homepage or | here |

Potential Stuff

With all this storage it would be nice to have more pics - its no problem if they are not digital. I can scan slides, negs, prints etc. If you have old stuff, I can give you a digital copy of them - I can even clean them up if torn or mouldy !
I'd like to see a section of pics of boats with a bit of info on the history of the vessel - and maybe a pic inset of the owner.

I personally do not get down to the clubhouse too often - so to put a few faces to the many boats on the river would be nice. I'll see if I can find a few willing souls to get a few pages together as a starter.

Alan has now given me some good updated sailing shots now and we have some recent pics of people playing with buoys on the beach.
