EVENT RULES FOR CRUISERS FOR RACES AND TROPHIES

In accordance with Racing Instruction No.17 of the Club Sailing Programme, WBYC PYN (numbers) may be adjusted during the season at the discretion of the Sailing Committee.

BAY SERIES

The Bay Trophy is awarded for a series of races to be sailed within the confines of Weston Bay. Points are awarded for each race. Half the series of races run, +1 to count. The Series is to be TWO classes.

POINTS SERIES 'A' AND 'B'

The courses for races in the A Series and B Series are outside of the confines of Weston Bay. ‘A’ Series races are basically "two tide" and the ‘B’ Series "one tide" races.

1. A Trophy shall be awarded to the boat gaining the lowest number of points in each series.

2. To qualify, a boat must take part in half of the races in the series plus 1.

3. Should any published race be cancelled, the sailing Committee will endeavour to arrange a substitute race.

4. The qualifying conditions may be varied at the discretion of the Sailing Committee to suit the season's programme.

5 Each Series is for TWO Classes.

FROST BITE (WINTER) SERIES

Because of the time of year, participants should confirm their intention to enter each event by Midnight on the Friday before each event, Preferably by email to the Sailing Secretary, cc Race Officer & Vice Commodore.

Providing at least two boats confirm that they intend to compete, an email confirming that the race is to go ahead (or otherwise) will be sent by midday on the Saturday before the race is planned, by either the Sailing Secretary, Race Officer or Vice Commodore.

The start and finish for the Frost Bite series will be at Juicy Buoy ‘B’ (unless the OOD decides weather conditions are not suitable). The gate will be as published in Racing Instruction 5.5. of the Sailing Programme, between Juicy Buoy and Brean Down. The line will be Juicy Buoy, in transit with the outer end of Birnbeck Island.

The ODD will have the discretion to use a short ‘B’ series course or a Bay course subject to conditions at the time. Scoring will be as per Racing Instruction Scoring will be as per Racing Instruction No. 12.

The series is for TWO classes.
