Gallery 2  Hi Cruisers, Just a note to say Frank Toman and I in Moth + fourteen yachts and one motor boat from Barry and three yachts from Cardiff cruised to Bristol. We even had a special rate agreed with HB. Using brand new pontoons, with water and electricity, located opposite the Great Britain. The wind and weather proved fair with all boats arriving on time. The lock had to be opened twice as there were so many yachts + a few local vessels. We had two nights to enjoy local restaurants and bars. The Cabot Cruising Club also made us all welcome on Saturday evening.
Departure time came on Sunday with an 0800 lock and bridge swing . Meeting Eleanor B inbound to Bristol with Pat and Alan on board. Barry Hobbs was on the dock side to say farewell and meet the EB. So many yachts made a grand sight passing under the suspension bridge. Memories of an earlier cruise to Bristol also came back when we had* three boats from Weston as well. ( Geoff Miltons *Reflection, PJs *Hobbit and my yacht * Vol au Vent) Pat Jensen and myself also cruised to Portishead in Baltic Wanderer on Monday night with early morning passage up the Avon to Bristol.
